Jeff Munn writes,
"...a few pictures from my last trip
in September. The first was on the top of the Rock of Gibraltar.
The famous Barbary Apes (macaques monkeys actually) still run wild there.
All it took was a cookie and some patience to get him on the bike.
The second was on the road in Morocco. What destinations!
The last was taken in Morocco on the east side of the Atlas mountains,
at a town about 100 miles out into the Sahara desert. Zagora was
the end of the road literally, unless you had a GS and a lot of balls.
My K75S was good, but not that good. The sign is famous for adventurers.
It literally says, "52 days to Timbuktu" (by camel).
Zagora was traditionally the start point for camel caravans heading to
that famous crossroads of Africa. I'm sure on an 1150GS it would
only take a week! All in all it was a two week, 4800 mile roundtrip
from Germany. I can't wait to go back.
